Since 1990, David Begg Associates and the University of Strathclyde have collaborated to provide structured, modular training to aspiring Qualified Persons.

Over the years, our course has developed an enviable reputation not only for providing high quality training, but more importantly for producing true quality professionals who are a credit to their companies, their professions and above all to themselves.

We are generally regarded as the best providers of Qualified Person training and we are used by pharmaceutical companies, large and small, from all over the European Union and beyond.

Our course is now officially recognised by regulatory authorities outside the United Kingdom, for example in Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, and Malta.

The series of twelve modules span 21 months and are repeated on a two yearly cycle, but don't worry if you missed the start of the current series. Unlike some QP training courses, you can join and leave our series of courses whenever you wish and, if you do not intend to gain the Postgraduate Diploma or MSc, you can attend as many or as few of the modules as you wish.

The vast majority of the training modules are held in York. The practical module is held at the University of Strathclyde and the module on active pharmaceutical ingredients is traditionally held in Ireland in order to integrate factory visits into the programme.

Increasingly, these training modules are being used by companies to train technical managers from a wide range of disciplines, as well as aspiring Qualified Persons. To reflect this, we have adopted the title "Qualified Person and Professional Development Training" for the series of modules.

We also offer students the opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice, which may be converted to an MSc.
